A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Libertines rocker Pete Doherty after he failed to appear in court today.

The 40-year-old musician was due before magistrates in Margate charged with driving while disqualified.

Doherty didn't appear at court today... but did doff his hat at his last court appearance

But the Can't Stand Me Now singer, who is fabled for his lateness and no-shows at gigs, did not appear.

He was due to enter pleas to two charges relating to alleged offences in October last year, when he was stopped by police at 1.40am while riding an electric motorbike in Dane Court Road, Margate.

He is accused of driving while banned, and without insurance.

The former Babyshambles frontman, who lives in Eastern Esplanade in Cliftonville, had been hit with a six-month disqualification last October after he was caught speeding four times in three weeks.

Appearing at Folkestone Magistrates' Court on that occasion, he was fined £9,228.
