Titan the robot, a display from the Ramsgate RNLI lifeboat and beautiful sunshine provided the perfect mix for this year's Broadstairs Water Gala.

Taking over Viking Bay for the day, thousands enjoyed the weather and entertainment on offer yesterday.

Children and adults alike made the most of the fun fair and watched the Millers and Sweeps battle in the water in awe.

The firework finale at 9.45pm rounded off the jam-packed day.

Simon Abra, of the organising committee, said: "It was a fantastic day with lovely weather.

"A real highlight was Titan the robot, everybody loved it and you could probably hear people screaming on the other side of Thanet.

"There was everything from a sand castle competition to paddleboarding which people enjoyed.

"It finished with live music which was glorious and a fantastic firework finale."
