Police seize air weapon and dish out fines to group in Margate for breaching Covid restrictions

A weapon was seized and seven people issued with Covid fines after police stopped a gathering in Margate.

Officers were called to a property in Vicarage Place and found several people inside.

Police seized an air weapon from the property

An air weapon was located and seized for destruction as a precautionary measure.

Fixed penalty notices were also dished out as not all of the seven occupants lived at the address and the incident happened at about 7.20pm on Good Friday.

They were fined for breaking social-mixing Covid-19 restrictions.

As it currently stands, households are not allowed to mix indoors.
