A policeman needed stitches in his leg after being hit with a bottle at Broadstairs Folk Festival.
The officer was among a group hit with a wine bottle at the annual event on Friday night.
Kent Police were dealing with reports of anti-social behaviour when they came under attack in Victoria Parade, Broadstairs, at about 10.30pm.
The force said a bottle was thrown from above and a shard of glass hit an officer.
A spokesman said it caused a deep cut on his calf - leaving him needing hospital treatment and stitches.
Police want to hear from a group of youngsters in the area where the bottle was thrown as they might be important witnesses.
Witnesses or anyone with information is asked to phone DC Richard Cordery on 01843 222185 or Kent Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
