A woman has been found dead in a flat after police forced their way in following concerns from a neighbour.

The death is being treated as unexplained and officers from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate are investigating.

Police were called to the flat in Trove Court, Newcastle Hill, Ramsgate at around 10.30pm on Monday after a man raised concerns he had not heard from his friend in some time.

Officers attended and forced entry to the flat. The body of a woman, thought to be in her 30s, was found.

Her death is being treated as unexplained.

No formal identification has yet taken place and a post-mortem examination is due later on this week.
