Woman pushed to ground in cash robbery in Northdown Road in Cliftonville, Margate

A woman was pushed to the ground after a man snatched money from her hand at a cash point in Margate.

Between 8.45am and 10.45am on Friday, March 29, the victim - in her 50s - withdrew money from the machine outside a shop in Northdown Road, Cliftonville.

She was approached by a man who asked if he could borrow some cash.

The victim refused, and the suspect grabbed about £60 from her hand and shoved her to the floor.

He ran away in the direction of Palm Bay.

The man was described as white, large build, mid-20s, 5ft 6ins tall and was wearing a grey hooded top, white trainers and ripped jeans. He had an earring in his right ear and was carrying a black bag.

Detectives investigating the incident would ask any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward by calling 01843 222289 quoting reference 46/60387/19.
