A woman's body has been found in Ramsgate harbour.

Police rushed to the scene just before 9am.

A spokesman said the body - believed to be a woman aged between 60 and 70 years old - was recovered from the water.

The RNLI was called to the outer harbour outside of the western arm.

Inquiries are ongoing.
