Two men have been arrested after a man was stabbed in the neck.
The victim was flown to hospital in London with a serious knife wound after the alleged attack at Ramsgate harbour just after 1am.
The area was taped off while police investigated.
Officers are now appealing for witnesses.
A spokesman said: "Kent Police was called to a report of a disturbance taking place in Harbour Parade, Ramsgate at 1.14am on Friday 22 September 2017.
"A man sustained an injury to his neck, consistent with a stab wound and was taken to a London hospital. His condition is stable.
"A 28-year-old man from Margate and a 32-year-old man from Ramsgate were arrested on suspicion of assault and currently remain in police custody while enquiries are ongoing.
"Both parties are believed to be known to each other."
An ambulance spokesman added: "We received a call to The Harbour at 1.20am today following reports of a person suffering a stab wound.
"Ambulance crews attended and treated the patient, who had suffered a wound to the neck, before they were airlifted to Kings College Hospital in London."
Locals posted on social media about a heavy police presence near Harbour Parade in the early hours of this morning.
