Three men have been arrested tonight after armed police were called to Margate town centre.
Dane Hill in Cliftonville was shut at both ends at about 5pm after reports that a man had been spotted with a gun.
At about 9.45pm police took three men into custody on suspicion of making threats to kill.
No injuries have been reported.
Several police vehicles parked at the Lido nearby, including armed response.
The police vehicles are thought to have stopped at the Lido while officers dealt with the incident in Dane Hill.
Dane Hill was reopened just before 10pm but officers remain on the scene and a police spokesman said enquiries are ongoing.
