Armed police descend on QEQM Hospital in Margate after ‘man makes threats’

Armed police descended on a hospital after reports of a man making threats.

Multiple officers were called to QEQM Hospital in Margate shortly before 11am today after the alarm was raised.

Eyewitnesses on social media reported seeing several police cars arrive at the scene in St Peter’s Road.

Officers arrested a 35-year-old man after he was tracked down.

A police spokesman said: “We were called shortly before 11am today following a report of a man making threats.

“Officers attended the St Peter's Road area of Margate and a 35-year-old man was later arrested on suspicion of a malicious communications offence.”
