Armed police scrambled to Ramsgate after ‘threats made with weapon’

Armed police descended on a town centre following reports of a suspect making threats with a weapon.

Officers were scrambled to King Street in Ramsgate, where a 33-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident.

Patrols, including firearms officers, arrived at around 8:45 pm yesterday (Wednesday, May 29) and a search of a property was carried out.

A Police spokesperson said: “At around 8.45 pm on Wednesday, 29 May 2024, patrols, including firearms officers, attended King Street, Ramsgate, following reports of a man making threats with a weapon.

“A 33-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident, and officers completed a search at a nearby address.”
