A man has been arrested on suspicion of assault after a man was found with injuries.

Police taped off part of Margate High Street to investigate after they were called to the scene shortly after 9am.

An ambulance was also at the scene, and a man was taken to hospital.

A police spokesman added: "A 26-year old man was arrested on suspicion of assault. He currently remains in police custody.

"The road was cordoned off while officers were making enquiries at the scene, but it is expected to reopen shortly."
