Festival organisers are calling for artists to present ideas to be involved in a week-long exhibition this summer.
The Ramsgate Festival of Sound runs from July 20 to July 28 and is looking for 10 artists to come up with a sound piece on the theme of time.
Selected artists will see their work displayed in the town's Sonic Trail when the festival opens.
The festival will commission £500 to each artwork and will be selected by a panel with a deadline set for the end of March.
A statement from the organisers says they will welcome artists at any stage of their career.
It adds: "We welcome proposals from artists who wish to develop an existing work, as well as proposals for new pieces of artwork.
"We are looking for works that explore themes that could be as diverse as memory, history, evolution nature and landscape, growth, age and even the future.
"The Ramsgate Festival of Sound will be inviting audiences to explore everything that Ramsgate has to offer, from its rich history, its coastal location, its booming artistic and cultural offer to its people and its place in contemporary Britain."
Applications should include name, address and contact details and details for the proposal including the title, what the commission will look and sound like, any technical requirements and considerations of the size and scale for an appropriate location in Ramsgate.
Full details for the festival and the call for artists is available on the festival's website. Send your proposal with the subject 'Open Call' to info@ramsgatearts.org
