A Co-op is set to be replaced by an Asda Express.
The store and petrol station in Tothill Street, Minster, is expected to shut on October 18, and is one of 132 Co-ops across the UK to be converted.
It comes after Asda announced it had purchased the shops under a multi-million pound deal last year as part of its long term aim to become the UK’s second largest supermarket.
The conversions kicked off last week, with 11 stores in various locations across the UK opening as Asda Express sites. The remaining 105 stores, including Minster, are expected to be converted before the end of March 2024.
Andy Perry VP of Convenience at Asda said: “We’re incredibly excited to be bringing our Asda value and quality to the Minster community with the conversion of the Co-op site.
“The roll out marks an incredibly exciting moment for our business and accelerates our presence in the fast-growing convenience market.”
