Margate threw away a two-goal lead as they were held 2-2 at Ashford (Middlesex) in the Ryman League Premier Division on Saturday.
The visitors went ahead after 24 minutes when Aaron Lacy’s long throw into the box caused problems and the ball fell to the unmarked Steve West 12 yards out and he scored.
Lloyd Blackman (pictured) then netted the second goal from the penalty spot after Jamie Lawrence’s pass was handled by a defender.
Gate keeper Paul Nicholls kept his side’s lead in tact with two excellent first half saves and they had chances to wrap the game up early in the second half before letting the home side back into it.
Byron Harrison struck twice after 62 and 71 minutes, firstly during a goalmouth scramble following a free-kick and then after getting on the end of a Ricardo Joseph cross.
In between Ashford’s two goals they were reduced to 10-men when Malachi Bulley was sent off for kicking Joe Healey.
