A man in his 30s has been flown to hospital in London after suffering head, chest and stomach injuries in an assault.
A 40-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault, following the disturbance at a flat in Margate.
An air ambulance was called at 3.30 this morning and landed at the Queen Elizabeth Queen Mother Hospital in Margate where the victim had been taken.
He was then flown to a major trauma centre in London where he remains in a serious condition.
The man arrested is known to the victim.
A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called to the property in Athelstan Road at 3.11am on Friday 18 August 2017.
"Upon arrival officers located a man in his 30s who had suffered multiple injuries to his head and body.
"He was driven to a local hospital before being airlifted to a second in London where he remains in a serious condition.
"A 40-year-old man who is known to the victim was arrested at the scene on suspicion of assault. He remains in custody.
"Enquiries into the circumstances behind the incident are ongoing."
