Despite more than 300 national entries, two pupils at Dame Janet primary school have made a shortlist of five finalists for the same competition.
Marie Howe, 9, and Lauren White, 8, are in the same class and to top it off been best friends since the start.
The pair have vowed to share the prize if one of them wins in a bid to not compromise their friendship.
Marie's mum Kelly Turner said: "The wow factor is that the two girls in year four were picked as finalists.
"They're also in the same class and to top it they're best friends and have been since starting primary school. "So as best friends they did not want the chance of maybe losing their friendship, so being so sweet they’ve said if one of them was to win they are going to share the trip with each other."It’s so humbling and sweet - what they need now is likes and shares to gain the votes."The competition, run by sofa company ScS, asked youngsters to share their very own sofa design.
The winning design will be decided by the general public, through a Facebook vote, with the lucky winner scooping a real life creation of their sofa for their school and a trip to Disneyland for them and their family.
Lauren's design is called Sweet Treats, based on her grandad's love of liquorice.
She said: "My Grandad loves liquorice, so my sofa is a colourful, yummy sofa for us to eat his favourite sweets and watch a film together.
"I love sweets, everyone loves sweets. I just wanted to do a sweetie sofa, what sweets could I do?
"Looking around my school, I noticed we are all sorts of children.
"This reminded me of liquorice allsorts sweets and someone who is very special to me, my grandad, he loves these sweets.
"My grandad lives in Wales and when he comes down with nanny to see us, we always buy him a box of liquorice allsorts.
"Grandad would love my sofa, he would probably try to eat it.
"I've tried these sweets, but don't really like them, but I thought they look bright, colorful, fun and funky, which would brighten up anyone's day."
Marie's also chose a colourful design and named her sofa Unite in Comfort.
She said: "At my school Dane Janet Academy, we use the names and flags of different countries as our class names.
"I thought this would be a great idea for my sofa and to represent my school in a special way.
"I thought about how I feel about different countries and thought about how cool it would be for all people to come to together as one on a big comfy sofa.
"I would love to have my sofa made, that would be awesome and something I would never forget."
The girls are hoping to bag as many votes as possible, which can be cast here.
Voting closes on Thursday, March 8.
