A fire which spread through the roof of a home in Thanet is believed to have been started accidentally.

Firefighters were called to the blaze on Green Road in Birchington shortly after 4am.

Two fire engines arrived and crews used small tools for access before extinguishing the flames with a hose reel jet.

Nobody was injured and crews left around an hour and 20 minutes later.

It's believed the fire was started accidentally due to radiated heat from a log burner.
