Part of a Kent town was cordoned off on Monday afternoon after an unexploded wartime shell was found.
Workmen in St Peter's Road, Broadstairs, discovered the object, which is around 25cm long, at around 2.50pm.
An area around a former Catholic church building was sealed off while bomb disposal experts attend the scene, which is less than 300 metres from the town's railway station.
A spokesman for Kent Police asked motorists to avoid the area between Green Lane and The Broadway.
