A woman suffered a black eye after being hit in the face by a toilet roll holder at a fast food chain.

Nikky Ricks has taken to social media to complain about the incident and the response of staff to her injury, which she suffered at a Burger King in Broadstairs.

The mum, a participant in the UK Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, had taken her son out for a birthday meal when the freak accident happened.

"Went to the loo and whoever put the new toilet roll in didn't relock the case.

"The door fell open and smashed me in the face. Was one of those big old stainless steel ones."

Ms Ricks, who has posted pictures of her black eye on her Twitter and Instagram accounts, says she was given a £3 discount by staff but complained she did not receive an apology.

"I now have a massive black eye. That's going to look immensely professional."

Burger King has been contacted for comment.
