Cyclist injured in hit and run in Queen Street, Ramsgate

A cyclist suffered a head injury when he was hit by a car - which was later found on fire after the driver fled.

The suspected hit and run happened in Queen Street, Ramsgate.

A red Seat Ibiza believed to have been involved in the crash was found on fire three miles away in Kingston Close the following day.

The cyclist, a man in his 70s, was taken to hospital but has since been released.

The incident happened at 2.25pm on Wednesday, July 19, but police have now issued an appeal for witnesses.

A spokesman said: "Officers investigating the collision have made a number of enquiries since the incident and spoken to witnesses.

"They are now asking anyone with information, who may have seen something and who has not yet spoken to police, to contact as soon as possible by calling 01843 222289 quoting reference 19-0832."
