Plans to re-open Manston Airport would be disastrous for Ramsgate and the surrounding area, say campaigners.
The government has agreed to look at a planning application from a consortium to turn the site into a cargo hub.
But the proposal has provoked a backlash from the No Night Flights group, which claims the plan would "destroy" businesses, tourism and schools.
The cargo airport would have a capacity of 12,000 cargo movements a year, which could have a positive - or negative - effect on the area.
Reporter Poppy Jeffery spoke to people on both sides of the debate.
