An open casting call for a lead role in a "major" Fox Studios film is to be held in Margate this weekend.

Casting company Des Hamilton, which has worked for films including This is England, is looking for a boy aged between 10 and 12 for the role.

The boy cast will be in a feature film directed by Taika Waititi, best known for films including Thor: Ragnarock and Moana.

The agency say they are looking for "a quirky, working class, Caucasian boy, aged 10-12, preferably small for his age, with a distinctive look to play the lead role."

The open call will be held at Jojo's School of Dance in Buckingham Road, Margate, on Sunday, from midday until 5pm.

Appointments do not need to be made and the audition will be an "informal brief chat on camera".

Des Hamilton Casting say no previous acting experience is necessary and "whoever goes on to feature in the film will be well paid".
