Margate Operatic Society is presenting the fun-filled pantomime Babes In The Wood this festive season from Wednesday, December 3, to Sunday, December 7, at the town’s Winter Gardens.
The show team is looking for two sets of local children aged from six to 12 years with good dancing, singing and acting ability who ooze lots of personality and enthusiasm and will collectively form the junior dance troupe. The roles of the babes, Isobel and Annabelle will also be cast from this line up.
Open auditions are to be held on Sunday, September 14, at the MOS headquarters at 5 Cliftonville Mews, Edgar Road, Cliftonville, at 11am.
Any children who are interested in attending the audition can register their interest by telephoning 01843 221463.
This home-grown pantomime has once again been adapted by MOS stalwarts Stuart Clements and Harcus Copper and includes characters such as the dastardly Sheriff of Nottingham who the audiences can hiss and boo at, Robin Hood and his Merry Men, Maid Marion Robin’s love interest and nursemaid Hyacinth Nightingale, the panto dame.
The company uses professional scenery, has fabulous costumes and features a host of experienced actors and dancers. They aim to give the people of Thanet a first class pantomime at an affordable price.
Tickets are £8 with £1 concessions for senior citizens and children. Advanced bookings can be made from the theatre box office on 01843 292795 or MOS on 01843 297780.
