Oscar-winning actress Olivia Colman could add to her cabinet of awards at this year's Golden Globes after she was nominated for her role in a film based around a Kent cinema.
The star of The Crown and The Favourite is up for the best actress in a motion picture gong for her part in the 2022 romance drama Empire of Light.
The film is set around the Dreamland cinema in Margate, where much of the filming took place this year.
Directed by Oscar-winning Sam Mendes - the man behind films 1917 and Skyfall - the movie features a star-studded cast including Colin Firth and Toby Jones.
According to IMDB, the story is "about the power of human connection during turbulent times in the 1980s".
It is yet to be released in the UK, with an expected date of January 9, but hit cinemas across the pond on Friday.
The film premiered on September 3 to crowds in London, where it received mixed reviews - although Colman's performance has been widely praised.
Colman has been warming the hearts of the British public for years in her TV roles on ITV's Broadchurch and Channel 4's Peep show, but branched out to the silver screen in 2011, taking a part in Margaret Thatcher's biopic the Iron Lady.
In 2018 she landed a lead role in the film The Favourite, playing a frail Queen Anne.
Her portrayal gained Colman her Oscar for best actress.
The 80th annual Golden Globe Awards ceremony is in Los Angeles on January 10.
