Corky's Corner

Another great week passes us by in Thanet and we’ve had a whole load of diverse stuff to talk about on kmfm.

Championship golf came to the isle as the Miniature Golf World Championships were held at the mini course in Westbrook - apparently the reigning champion comes from Finland. Not a country known for its golf courses, miniature or otherwise!

This year, I played a round of miniature golf at Broadstairs with my daughter; I started off well but my game fell apart when we got to the windmill, and I hate to say it, but she thrashed me - and I’ve not heard the last of it since!

One of the island’s longest-serving lollipop ladies and a kmfm regular, Lollipop Pat, retired from school crossing duties at Minster school. She’ll be happy in her retirement as she tells us she can listen to more kmfm.

Johnny Lewis from kmfm breakfast was at the Learning Centre in Margate to officially open their fun day and they managed to raise more than £1,000, so well done to all involved, I know Johnny had a fantastic time when he popped in.

Johnny is off for a little break and Nigel Harris is looking after things until his return. Plus, listen out for your chance to win with Mecca Bingo in Thanet as we play Songo Bingo this week during kmfm afternoons.

Here’s to another week in Thanet with kmfm on 107.2

Remember you can get intouch with us via the website at kmfm.co.uk. I look forward to hearing from you.
