A cyclist has been taken to hospital with a head injury after being hit by a car.

Police and ambulance crews were sent to Newington Road in Ramsgate at about 8.30am.

The bike rider, a man, was taken to QEQM Hospital after being treated at the scene.

Ambulance spokesman Rich Airey said: "One ambulance crew attended the scene.

"The man, who had reportedly suffered a head injury, was treated before being taken to QEQM."

Police have been contacted for details.
