A man has pleaded guilty to dangerous driving after a police chase through Margate saw him commit a series of offences.
After speeding away from officers who had been following his vehicle in the Millmead Road area of Margate, he reached speeds of 70mph in a 30mph zone in an attempt to lose the patrol car - while also driving on the wrong side of the road and going through a red light.
A stinger was used to stop the car, driven by homeless Joseph Hernandez, 21, shortly after 8am on Sunday.
He appeared before Medway magistrates the following day and pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, driving while disqualified and driving without insurance.
He also admitted making off without payment in connection with the theft of fuel from a petrol station in Ramsgate on Tuesday, May 2.
The case was adjourned for sentencing to be held at Canterbury Crown Court at a later date.
