Keen EastEnders fan Josh Vizzard jumped at the chance to visit the popular TV show’s studios in London. The 15-year-old Ursuline College pupil has just completed a week’s work experience at the Thanet Extra - which included meeting our own kmfm star Johnny Lewis (right) and chose to write about his trip as one of his projects.
"My mum, sister Nikita and I all went up to London on a day trip. We arrived in Victoria at 10am, got our tickets for the underground, and then went to look around the Natural History Museum and the Science Museum.
After that we jumped on the tube on the Circle Line and went back to Victoria. Then we hopped on to the Victoria line up to Green Park and then on to Jubilee Line heading over to West Hampstead. We swapped at West Hampstead for the overground to Elstree Studio’s at Borehamwood.
We got off and as we were walking down the road we spotted Thomas Law who plays Ian Beale’s son Peter (see below left) and Charlie G. Hawkins (Darren Miller) pictured in his car, right, who has recently had a baby with Cheryl Fergison (Heather Trott), in the popular soap. They were signing autographs near their car so I got my autograph book and pen out, rushed over, and got a photo and an autograph. We were so excited.
After a further hour of waiting we saw actor Hari Dhillon (Michael Spence) from Holby City and while we were there we also saw Steve McFadden (Phil Mitchell) ride in on his motorbike. We were there for about an hour and a half before we left to go over to the BBC studios in White City.
While on the train coming from the BBC studios, and going to Covent Garden, we saw the dancer Wayne Sleep.
Mum was sitting opposite him and kept telling me: “That’s Wayne Sleep,” so I asked if it was him and he said yes, so I got another photo and autograph to add to my collection.
This made us miss a stop so we had to go back! We then went to Covent Garden and Leicester Square.
After that we were all hungry so we got some food at KFC before getting the coach home. It was a lovely day!"
