A derelict pub branded an eyesore after vandalism and arson attacks is due to be destroyed this week.
The owners have until Friday to carry out a demolition order served by Thanet District Council (TDC) on the Dane Valley Arms.
And if they don't carry out the work on the Margate pub, the council will send in a wrecking ball to complete the task themselves.
The demolition order requires the owners of the Dane Valley Arms in Dane Valley Road, Margate to demolish the buildings and clear the site.
However, owners Dane Valley Arms Limited were given eight weeks to carry out the work but have so far failed to carry out the destruction of the buildings and the clearance of the site.
The action was taken by the council due to the poor condition of the building and the potential risk to anyone who enters the site without consent.
TDC cabinet member for community services Cllr Lin Fairbrass said: “This has been a long standing issue for the community in Dane Valley which we’re keen to resolve.
"The owners have been given plenty of opportunity to restore this eyesore building and now they only have a few days to carry out the work required" - Cllr Lin Fairbrass
"The owners have been given plenty of opportunity to restore this eyesore building and now they only have a few days to carry out the work required.
"If this isn’t complied with in time we’ll be completing the demolition ourselves and seeking the costs back.
"It’s frustrating that the owners of a privately owned site have so far failed to take responsibility for their building, but I hope this provides assurance to the community that action will be taken.”
In July last year Nicola Hilton was fined after she failed to comply with a notice requiring urgent refurbishment of the pub.
She had been served a notice under the Planning Act stating that the property had a negative impact on the area.
