Poundland in Margate has been selected as one of just five stores in the UK to trial a mini fashion section in-store.
The scheme by the discount retailer will give shoppers the chance to buy the PEP&CO range in branches which are not big enough to take the full 'shop-in-shop' clothing brand.
The high street chain says it will be a smaller version, taking up a third of the space the usual PEP&CO shop-in-shop takes up, and stocking the most popular pieces.
Prices for the clothing starts at £1 and 95 per cent of the range is under £10.
“We’re determined to become the retailer our customers are asking us to be,” says Poundland trading director Tim Bettley.
“PEP&CO, our fast-growing family fashion brand, is a major part of that reinvention and this new pilot of a compact shop-in-shop will bring the best of our clothing ranges to our smaller stores.”
If successful, this pilot, which offers a range of clothing for kids, women and men, could pave the way to bring the brand to more Poundland stores across the UK.
Christchurch, Minehead, Swansea and Newport are the other stores trialling the mini fashion section.
