AN 18-month-old toddler was found wandering alone in Ramsgate town centre this morning. The girl was spotted at about 6.30am by a man in Boundary Road near the Aldi supermarket car park.

He alerted Thanet police and waited with the child until they arrived. The girl is now in the care of social services. Police are carrying out houses to house inquiries in the Boundary Road area to try and find her parents or guardians.

She has blonde hair and is wearing a blue denim dress and pink tights. A police spokeswoman said: “The child was very distressed but is now being looked after. It is possible that she let herself out of her home without anyone knowing.”
