Dozens of used needles have been found along a busy school route which young children walk along every day - prompting concerns for their safety.
A shocking picture shows the discarded syringes dumped along the alleyway near Ramsgate railway station.
Connor McGivern, 20, made the horrifying discovery yesterday at about 3.30pm and has raised health concerns about the incident.
He described how a lot of people use the alleyway to access the train station but also that a lot of parents and young children walk through there to get to and from school.
"I think it’s honestly disgusting," the Ramsgate resident said.
"I walk my sister to school down there every morning and it only takes a child to slip or pick one up and start playing with it."
He described how some of the used syringes in the pile still had blood in them.
"Especially with Covid going around, this is the last thing you want to be making a trip to the hospital for," he added.
A spokesperson for Thanet District Council said the street cleansing team was notified of the presence of sharps and has visited the site today to clear them away.
"If people witness anti-social behaviour taking place we recommend they report it to the police as soon as possible by calling 101," they said.
"We would advise anyone who finds sharps to stay well away from them and to report to Thanet District Council to arrange clearance."
