A man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after a Jaguar became stuck in a tidal pool on a beach.

Police were called to Walpole Bay in Cliftonville just before 12.30pm following reports of the incident.

They found the silver car stuck in the water and arrested a 22-year-old man from Cliftonville at the scene.

Fire crews were also called to the beach to help the man out of his car.

No injuries were reported but the vehicle is yet to be recovered.
