Driver, 37, charged after crashing and ‘smashing up seven cars’ in Margate

A suspect accused of crashing into parked cars in a residential street – damaging seven – while under the influence of alcohol has been charged.

Vitalij Kovzan, 37, is said to have caused the smash-up in Addiscombe Road, Margate, shortly before 3.40pm yesterday.

Kovzan, of Kings Mews in the same town, was today charged with driving a vehicle while above the legal limit of alcohol, police said.

No injuries were reported and Kovzan was arrested at the scene.

He was bailed to appear at Margate Magistrates’ Court on Monday September 11.
