Two men are due in court after a bag containing cash and jewellery was stolen from an elderly woman's home in a reported distraction burglary.

The woman, aged in her 90s, told police that bank books were also taken from the property in the Churchfields area of Margate last Thursday.

Officers carried out enquiries and arrested two men yesterday.

Bradley Thompson, 46, of no fixed abode, and Christopher McDonagh, 43, of William Avenue, Margate, have since been charged with burglary.

They are due to appear before Medway Magistrates' Court tomorrow.
