An elderly woman trapped in a crashed car has been freed by firefighters.

Two fire engines were sent to Hereson Road, Ramsgate, following a single-car smash shortly after 1pm.

The woman has been taken to hospital suffering from chest pain.

A SECAmb spokesman said: "I can confirm ambulance crews have attended the scene following reports of an RTC.

"The woman was assessed and treated at the scene and has been taken to William Harvey Hospital suffering from chest pain."
