Ramsgate: Woman in hospital as fire rips through outhouse in Effingham Street

Firefighters have been called to a blaze in Ramsgate.

The fire was reported in an outhouse next to a property in Effingham Street, Ramsgate, at 2.30pm this afternoon.

It is not known what caused it but an elderly woman needed to be taken to hospital after breathing in smoke.

Crews used breathing apparatus, a hose reel jet and a main jet to put out the fire with a positive pressure ventilation fan.

It had been put out by 3.30pm, two fire engines were needed.
