He has had more comebacks than Rambo and now Nigel Farage has said he could return as Ukip party leader - should the government fail to deliver Brexit.
Mr Farage, who remains a South East MEP, said that he would return to the political fray if the government did not deliver on its promise to leave the EU.
After the resignations of two senior ministers, the former party leader said: "I've already said that if Article 50 gets suspended beyond March 29, I will put myself back into full-time campaigning.
"I will add to that. Gerard Batten, who is the leader of Ukip and has my confidence and support - his term as leader comes to an end in March of next year.
"There will be a leadership contest within Ukip in March next year.
"If Brexit is not back on track, if we're not actually going to be leaving and if this Chequers agreement has not been broken, I will very seriously consider putting my name forward to run as leader of Ukip again.”
He said: “The government’s sell-out leaves me with no choice. The latest Brexit betrayal must be reversed.
"I can assure any Conservatives, sitting in marginal seats, who are not prepared to stand up and honour the wishes of the electorate, I will make damn sure in that situation that you all lose your seats.
“The government’s sell-out leaves me with no choice..." - Nigel Farage
"Because there are millions of Conservative voters very unhappy indeed.”
He made the announcement on his regular LBC radio phone-in.
The possibility of a return to the frontline of politics follows a torrid period for Ukip, which has seen mass resignations by councillors and party members across many areas of the county, notably Thanet.
It lost every single one of its 17 county councillors in the KCC election in 2017.
Mr Farage has not, however, indicated whether - should there be a snap election - he would be prepared to stand as a Parliamentary candidate.
His bid to win the seat of South Thanet backfired and he lost out to Conservative Craig Mackinlay.
Mr Farage served as Ukip leader between 2006 and 2009, and returned to the job between 2010 and 2016.
