A FESTIVE sing-along around the Christmas tree at Pierremont Park at Broadstairs is to become an annual event. The mayor and mayoress, Jeffrey and ylvia Kirkpatrick, hosted the event attended by costumed members of the Broadstairs Dickens Fellowship, Broadstairs Dickens Festival and the St Peter’s Village Tour.

John Myhill and members of the Queen’s Road Baptist church provided the music for singing. A town council spokeswoman said: “It was a lovely occasion and we were very pleased that so many people including youngsters braved the freezing cold and joined in. I expect the festive singalong will become a regular fixture on our town events calendar."
