Firefighters were called to the scene of a blaze at a tip.
Crews were sent to Margate refuse and recycling centre along Manston Road at about 2.45pm.
They used a hose reel jet to put out household waste which was alight in a container.
Crews had put out the fire and left by 3.25pm
