Fire engines in Woodchurch Road, Birchington, after roof fire at property

Firefighters worked to tackle a roof fire in a house.

Six fire engines rushed to the scene in Woodchurch Road in Birchington at about 4.10pm.

The first crews to arrive found the roof well alight and have confirmed it has been completely damaged.

No injuries have been reported and animals nearby were safely moved away.

The fire was put out by 8pm.
