Firefighters had to use breathing apparatus to put out a blaze at a block of garages.

They were called out at exactly 5.44pm today to the derelict four by six metre block.

Crews also used hose reel and main jets and stayed on to damp down the area.

The fire broke out at Cobbs Place, Margate and nearby Fort Road was closed at both ends during the incident.
