Emergency services were called to a blaze in a residential street this morning, reportedly after bins caught fire.
Firefighters and police attended Carlton Road, Ramsgate, at about 1.45am, to extinguish the blaze and secure the area.
An eyewitness said: "I live opposite it and I got up to get a drink and the police and the firefighters were there, the fire was quite big."
Police officers said the cause of the blaze is currently unknown.
a spokesman added: "At 1.50am on Sunday 10 September 2017 a police patrol noted a fire in a rubbish bin at Carlton Avenue, Ramsgate.
"Kent Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene and the fire was extinguished.
"Enquiries are on-going into the cause of the fire."
