Firefighters were called to a blaze in a block of flats this evening.
Six fire crews were at the scene in Millmead Road, Margate, for an hour and a half.
It broke out in a second floor flat in a high-rise building at 7pm. The floor was evacuated and neighbours have been rehomed.
A spokesman for Kent Fire And Rescue said: "Crews wearing breathing apparatus entered the property and used a high-riser extinguisher to put out the fire in the flat.
"A positive pressure ventilation fan was used to clear smoke from the building. One woman was taken to hospital suffering from the effects of breathing in smoke.
"Occupants of a neighbouring flat required rehousing. The cause of the fire is being investigated."
