Six fire crews were called to a block of flats tonight after a blaze broke out.

The fire started in a flat on the seventh floor of the 15-storey property at Staner Court, in Staner Court Road, off Manston Road, Ramsgate.

The first firefighters arrived within five minutes of the 999 call at 9.32pm. At its height about 30 firefighters tackled the flames.

A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service said: "Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus searched the flat and quickly brought the fire under control.

"There are no reports of any injuries and everyone has been accounted for."

The cause of the blaze is not known at this stage.
