Forensics teams are among a large number of police officers attending an incident in a residential street this afternoon.
As many as six patrol cars and vans have been called to Cliftonville, near Margate.
It is thought the incident centres on flats in Surrey Road, close to the seafront and opposite Thanet Indoor Bowls club.
Forensics vehicles are at the scene, while a number of officers have been seen putting on protective suits.
It is not known if this is because of the nature of the incident or as a precaution amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
Officers have also unloaded equipment from a van.
Kent Police has since revealed it raided a property in the area.
