A crowdfunding site set up to raise money for Carl Gregory's funeral has reached more than half its target in just three days.
The 20-year-old died of injuries sustained after an attack in a shopping centre car park in Broadstairs last Tuesday evening.
Donations have flooded in after the JustGiving page was launched to raise £2,000 in 30 days.
The appeal, which was set up by Julie Parish, says: "I am trying to raise money for Carl Gregory's funeral costs so his family can give him the best send off he deserves."
Mr Gregory's mother, Helen Godden, has left a message on the page, thanking supporters.
It says: "We are so overwhelmed with everyone's generosity.
"Thank you does not begin to cover how much we appreciate all your support.
"Carl was such an amazing young man and we miss him so much. Thank you again. Xxx"
Two men were arrested and appeared at Maidstone Crown Court this morning charged with Mr Gregory's murder.
Their trial date has been set for March 6 next year.
