Fire crews were called to a house in Margate following reports of a gas leak.

They rushed to the scene at about 7.30pm and Harold Road was cordoned off while the property was investigated.

A Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said crews assisted a male occupant from the property, who was not hurt.

No other properties had to be evacuated.
