12 year old girl hit by car in Birchington coming home from hospital

A 12-year-old girl hit by a car in Birchington on Tuesday is recovering from her injuries.

She was hit by a red Renault Clio as she crossed Canterbury Road, close to King Ethelbert School.

She was then flown to King's College Hospital in London with injuries to her head, abdomen and lower leg.

Police spokesman Jon Green said: "Her condition is no longer thought to be life-threatening and she was due to be discharged on Wednesday afternoon."

Police are still keen to speak to anyone who may have seen the crash at around 4.50pm on Tuesday.
